Abstract

When mapping faults, geologists commonly fail to provide the details necessary for more sophisticated interpretations relating the faulting information to mineralization, ground-water potential, petrology, and regional structure, among others. The basic descriptors, related phenomena to be considered, and implications are tabulated for eight kinds of faults.—M. Russell.
